How to Install Vertical Blinds
Unpack your new blinds and check the packaging carefully to assure all parts have been removed before discarding the shipping containment. Inspect your blinds for any damage that may have occurred during shipping. Contact us promptly if you see any damage to any part of the shipment.
Use proper screws. The mounting screws included are for wood or sheet metal surfaces. For other surfaces such as dry wall, obtain appropriate fasteners and install them according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Tools (some helpful, but optional)
Drill with 1/16 Bit (screw bit helpful)
Metal Tape Measure
Parts List - All parts are not included with every order
Headrail (Mounts horizontally and holds the vanes)
Vanes (vinyl or fabric vanes)
Mounting clips
Mounting brackets (for wall mount)
Mounting Screws
Valance (matches the vanes)
Valance Corners
Valance Ends
Valance Clips (Wall Mount Valances Only)
Mark bracket positions on bottom of headrail. 4" (10.2cm) from each end, and space evenly between ends.
2 brackets: up to 62" (1.6m) wide
3 brackets: 62" (1.6m) 98" (2.5m)
4 brackets: 98" (2.5m) 134" (3.4m)
5 brackets: 134" (3.4m) 170" (4.3m)
6 brackets: 170" (4.3m) 192" (4.9m)
Mark bracket positions on bottom of headrail. 4" (10.2cm) from each end, and space evenly between ends.
Headrail Height Formula
Floor Clearance: Louver Length + 2 1/4" (5.7cm)
Sill Clearance: Louver Length + 1 7/8" (4.8cm)
NOTE: If carpet will be installed later, add allowance for its thickness so that louvers will clear carpet.
Hold headrail centered above window just over height marks. Mark bracket positions on wall from Step 1.
Position brackets on wall and mark screw holes. (Note: Top of bracket to be placed even with height marks.) Use drill to make pilot holes. Mount brackets using included screws or alternative fasteners.
Attach mounting clips to brackets using nuts and bolts. Tighten bolts so center clip is 2" (5.1cm) from wall. ( 1 1/4" (3.2cm) for 2" (5.1cm) wide louvers ). Add clearance for any window projection (i.e. window molding). Extension brackets are available for order if deeper projection is required. Contact us to make an order.
Snap headrail in place by inserting front edge in mounting clips and rotating back. (Note: Headrail can be installed with control cord at left or right.) Release headrail by inserting screwdriver between headrail and release tab.
Using screwdriver, pry open cord weight. Loop blind control cord around cord guides and press weight halves back together.

Rotate stems to open position so that you can see through slots. Push louvers up into stems so front of louver faces short leg of stem. Gently pull down on louver to insure it catches on stem hook. For cloth louvers, all hems should face same direction.
Note: Channel panel Louvers must be installed so that insert material (front of louver) faces the short leg of the stem.
Remove louvers by inserting credit card between louver and long leg of stem.
Valance (optional). Insert valance ends into valance corner joints, and attach to valance.
Snap one valance clip onto each end of headrail, 2" (5.1cm) from end. Space remaining clips evenly. Slide valance into clips.

Hi Esmeralda, The blinds came today and look great! Thanks for the prompt service. One small discrepancy in the shipment / instructions though. Page 2 of the installation instructions depicts 3 mounting clips and the recommended spacing. Following the spacing guidelines of 30” max between clips and 4” max at each end, any length over 68” would require 4 or more mounting clips. Perhaps the shipping department is using the illustration on page 2 to determine how many clips to send rather than a length chart? Just a small item, but perhaps small to rectify as well. In any event please do not misconstrue my pointing this out to you. The issue is very minor. I am very happy with the product and service rendered, and will be a return customer. Best regards, Gary Vosters

Hi Rosa, The replacement vanes arrived last week. Delivery was so quick. I installed the vanes this weekend and they looked beautiful. I am so very happy with them and I would recommend Windowblinds to everyone. Ordering was easy and you were so helpful. Thank you. Regards, Jean

Wow. You knew better than I (I didn't think I'd requested any). Since you say you HAD, I rechecked the parts bag, and sure enough they WERE included. Thank you very much! regards, Rich Comroe

Dear Esmeralda, Thank you so much for being such a great customer service agent. Others could learn from you and Rosa!!!! This email constitutes a confirmation of my order as stated below. Thanks for charging me right away! Sincerely, Toni Humphrey

I'm trying to match it up with the other two verticals in the room. It's not really near them, so it should be a good match. They have the square end valances so we want to continue the look. There is a two inch wood trim all around the window, so we allowed 2" on each outside of the wood trim which will block light well. We allowed 3" on top of the wood trim which will have the vertical fall nicely on the windowsill. Unless I'm missing something I think they should be ok. You are more than helpful and I certainly do appreciate your suggestions and help. I have ordered many verticals thru the years and never had anyone assist me like your company does. Thank you so much and I'm looking forward to ordering several more within the next few days and dealing with your company. Sincerely.

Good morning, I apologize for not getting back to you all sooner but life does have a habit of getting in the way. We received the new valance. Thank you so much! We've also, through your instructions, been able to change the three blinds so the draw is on the proper side. Thank you for excellent customer service and your prompt response to the problems that occurred during this transaction. Janet will be doing business with you again. Merry Christmas and thank you again. Jan Hedlun Trusty Roommate

We received the fabric vertical blinds and just put them on our patio door. They look great and were easy to install. Thank your for your help along the way.
